Petrotilapia `mumbo blue,` drawings from Ribbink et al. (1983)

Petrotilapia "mumbo blue" (128 mm SL) from Mumbo Island; (at right): left premaxilla (lateral view) and anterior outer row tooth of its congener, Petrotilapia tridentiger (drawings by Elizabeth M. Tarr). P. "mumbo blue" is considered to be possibly an undescribed species of Petrotilapia. Like others of their genus, these are relatively large mbuna species having several rows of movably implanted teeth in the jaws. From Fig. 12 of Ribbink et al., 1983; reproduced by permission of the Zoological Society of Southern Africa.
