Aulonocara hueseri is another "peacock" that is very similar to, and probably closely related to, A. stuartgranti. This individual is a male photographed at Likoma Island, Malawi, the only locality where this species has been found (Konings, 1995: 198). The export names in use by aquarium dealers for this fish include Aulonocara hueseri "Midnight," "Night Aulonocara," and Aulonocara "White top."
