Three new species of the cichlid fish genus Pseudotropheus, all characterized
by having relatively elongate bodies, are described from Lake Malawi, Africa. One
of the species is endemic to the shores of Chinyamwezi Island, another to those of
Chinyankwazi Island, and the last is known from both islands. All three are
morphologically similar to Pseudotropheus elongatus Fryer, but are clearly
distinguished from the latter and each other by characters of coloration and
color pattern.
