Above: Labidochromis textilis, a male photographed underwater by Ad Konings at Lumbaulo, Mozambique (about midway between the town of Cóbuè and the Mozambique — Tanzania border); photo, used by permission, from Konings (1995c). This is one of several Labidochromis spp. that share the unusual color pattern of narrow, alternating yellow and blue horizontal stripes.
